REMO NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Remo North Local Government was carved out of Ikenne Local government on October 1, 1996. It occupies about 195sq.km. and is bounded by Ijebu North, Ikenne, Obafemi/Owode Local Government and Oyo State to the east, south, west and north respectively.
It has 10 electoral wards and its headquarters is in Isara. The wards are Isara ward I, Isara ward II, Isara ward III, Isara ward IV, Ilara, Akaka,
Ipara, Orile-Oko, Ode-Remo ward I, and Ode-Remo ward II.
PEOPLE
This Local Government is peopled by the Remos, and because of its semi-urban nature, it has continued to attract indigenes and non-indigenes for industrial growth.
POPULATION
The projected population of this Local Government Area is over 112,000 (1991 census)
OCCUPATION
The people are predominantly Farmers and industrialists.
RELIGION
There is freedom of worship for everyone, however Christians and Muslims are found in the area, while some take to traditional religion.
EDUCATION
The Local Government has over 100 public primary and secondary schools. There are also an appreciative number of private investments in the education industry.
TRADITIONAL RULERS
This Local Government Area can boast of a strong traditional heritage and a sound cultural background at the head of which are enlightened royal fathers.
