Ogun State Ministry of Housing
The Ministry of Housing was carved of the erstwhile Ministry of works and housing in April 2004 with the following statutory roles:
- Implementing Government policy on housing projects.
- Formulation of Government policies on Public Buildings and housing delivery.
- Facilitating and assisting the Government Agencies in implementation of Government programme relating to Housing and Building matters.
- Rendering Consultancy services to Government Agencies in their implementation of Government programme as they relates to to housing and public Building.
- Collection of revenue arising from the performance of these statutory functions and responsibilities in accordance with some approved rate fees and charges on housing projects.
- Ensuring sustainable management of our Estate in line with the maintenance policy of the Administration and seeing to the day to day administration of the Ministry.
The Ministry is headed by the Hon. Commissioner Mrs. Jokotade Odebunmi
Ogun State housing Policy Goal
The State Housing policy ensures that all interested people in the State own or have access to decent safe and healthy housing at affordable cost.OGD low cost housing Estate
The O.G.D low cost housing estates were principally designed to service the low and low-medium income earners in Ogun State. In order to control the cost delivery of the house, it is usually designed to budget, managed directly by the ministry with cost of land and infrastructure heavily subsidized by government. At moment there are numbers of such estates spread all over the state.
OGD Estate Asero
- 142 units of 2 Bedroom semi-detached
- 42 units of interlocking bricks units
- 13 units, 6 no. 2 Bedroom
- 7 units, 3 Bedroom detached bungalow under construction.
Gateway Media Village, Ajebo Road
PHASE 1The project commenced on 16th February 2005 with the following units:
- 54 units of 3 Bedroom Detached Bungalow
- 44 units of 2 Bedroom semi-detached Bungalow
- 53 units of 2 Bedroom detached Bungalow
- 7 units of 2 Bedroom Bungalow.
Total no. of Building sold at GTV Housing estate is 107.
OGD Workers Estate, Laderin
OUR ACHIEVEMENTS AT WORKERS ESTATE LADERIN
Phase 1: 202 Units of 1 Bedroom Semi-Detached bungalow completed.
Phase 2: 54 Units of 1 Bedroom Semi-Detached bungalow completed.
Phase 3: 120 Units 2 Bedroom Semi-Detached bungalow at different level of construction. Clinic and Maternity Centre (in partnership with Abeokuta South LG) completed.
At present, we have a shopping Complex (in partnership with Gateway savings and Loans) in progress.
OGD Estate Itanrin, Ijebu-Ode
- 30 Building of 50units.
- 10 of 3 Bedroom semi-detached
- 40units of 2 Bedroom semi-detached
- 39 units already sold
Ibara Flagship Estate
- The Ibara Flagship Estate is being developed through joint venture initiative between the Ogun state Government and Oceanic Bank.
- The initiative is expected to redevelop the old civil servant quarters within the Ibara G.R.A to luxurious 2, 3 and 4 bedroom duplexes.

Other Housing Estates location in the State are Ilaro, Sagamu, Ikenne, Ago-Iwoye, Oru/Awa, Ijebu-Igbo, Aiyetoro
Abosinmi Housing Estate Scheme
The Abosinmi Housing Estate Scheme is a special programme designed to provide well planned, good quality low cost houses at the headquarters of 20 local government ares in the State.
The scheme is expected to assist civil servants and private sector workers in formal employment to own houses in their local government origin.
Indigenes in the State living abroad can also own houses in their local government of origin through the scheme.
Work has commenced in Ikenne L.G, and Aiyetoro, Yewa North L.G, to kick start the scheme.
Sites have also been acquired in Omu, Odogbolu L.G, and Odeda L.G.
