9. IJEBU-NORTH-EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

CHAIRPERSON:-OTUNBA REMI ODUBOTE OGUNKOYA

The Local Government came into being on 13th December 1996,having been carved out of Ijebu-ode Local Government it is bounded by Ijebu East Local Government in the East,Ijebu North Local Government in the north,Ijebu-ode Local Government in the south and Odogbolu Local Government in the west.
Its headquarters is in Atan, and it has 10 political wards: Ward 1 to ward 10.

PEOPLE
The people of the area belong to the Yoruba ethnic group. They speak the Yoruba language, with Ijebu as the main dialect

OCCUPATION
The people are predominantly Farmers,

RELIGION
Christianity and Islam have large fellowship in the Local Government area. There are also traditional worshipers.

TRADITIONAL RULERS
Many of the communities are under the leadership of Baales and Olorituns. However, the Local Government has 8 beaded crown traditional rulers. They are:

Oba S.A.Odukoya Oliworo of Iworo
Oba G.A.Banjo Gbadewolu Apejoye 1,the Ajalaiye of Ilugun (South)
Oba S.A. Osisanya The Yanpenruwa of Odoregbe Alaro.
Oba J.B.Otukoya Fiwagbade 1 Ekun pawolu, the Oligun of Ilugun (North)
Oba B.A.Bariyu Elese of Ilese
