Brief History of Regional Plan Office

 

Ogun State Regional Plan Office was created on the 27 th July, 2007 by His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and its strategically placed under the office of the Governor. The need for the creation arose after His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel accepted the draft report of the Regional Plan for the state and the need for the implementation of the plan for even distribution of socio-economic development of the State.

Brief Functions of Regional Plan Office

•  To facilitate the implementation of the Regional development plan of the State which covers a period of 20 years.

•  To play advisory role to all government agencies including Local Government Councils in evolving plans sand programmes that comply with the proposals of Regional Development Plan.

•  To collaborate with Bureau of Budget and Planning and Ministry of Finance to ensure compliance with the State Regional Development Plan.

•  To propagate the goals and objectives of the State Regional Development Plan to all and sundry so that it becomes widely understood, accepted and adopted, and

•  To coordinate the planning and review of the State Regional Development Plan in line with prevailing circumstances and situations as deemed right.

 

Completed and Ongoing Projects

The office scheduled interactive meetings with all government Agencies to provide support and guidance and ensuring that they align with the Regional Development Plan goals and target through formulation of short and medium term Agency development plans.
