MR BUKOLA OLOPADE
MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORT
MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS
INTRODUCTION
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Employment Generation was formerly known as the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture until May 2003 when the change in nomenclature was effected.
The Ministry is saddled with the responsibilities of Youth, Sports and Employment Generation which are to be carried out in line with both the Federal and State Government's existing policies and guidelines on matters relating to Youth, Sports and Employment general matters as may be issued / received from time to time.
It is a universal truth that the quality of any nation depends on the quality of her teeming youths. Importantly, the State Youth Development Programme is fundamentally for the prevention of delinquency among youths rather than treatment, bearing in mind that prevention is better than cure.
In principle, the Ogun State Government believes that wholesome training, gainful employment and provision of other developmental facilities for youths will in turn enhance the rapid socio-economic progress of the society at large. The State Youth Development Programmes emphasize discipline, leadership training, mental, physical, cultural and economic development of its youths, realizing the fact that disciplined and well-trained youths are assets and hope of any nation.
