𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Following the report of kidnapping of two female students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, the leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students, Ogun Axis swung into action at once by calling on the state government to rescue the students immediately.
The State government was then issued a four day ultimatum to emancipate Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola in a press conference held today, March 16, 2021.
Immediately after the press conference, the Chairman of NANS Ogun, Comrade Damilola Simeon Kehinde along with the Vice Chairman, Comrade Ekundina Elvis and other Students’ Union leaders set for the Divisional Headquarters of Police, Ayetoro where they met with the DPO alongside representatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, The Nigerian Army and the Department of State Security Service.
Afterwards, the NANS entourage visited the crime scene at Olowu area of Ayetoro for on-the-spot assessment. This assessment led to interaction with friends, course mates and neighbours of the victims.
The entourage also sensitise the pupils and staff of Community Primary School, Igbole-Abo, Ayetoro on the need to be security conscious.
Subsequently, the retinue visited Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro Campus where a meeting with the Provost of College of Agricultural Sciences ensued.
The team then head to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Eleweran to meet with the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun and the PPRO, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.
The CP Commended the Comrade Damilola Simeon Kehinde led administration while expressing confidence that Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola will be released soon and the culprits brought to book.
The last port of call was Sweet FM where Comrade Damilola Simeon Kehinde went live on air to further implore the Federal Government, State Government, Nigeria Police Force and other Security Agencies to be more proactive and deliver our students speedily.
Lo and behold, just few hours after the Programme on Sweet FM the PPRO of Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the safe and sound rescue of the victims.
We’re glad to announce that the efforts of The National Association of Nigerian Students and all Security agencies in Ogun state have borne fruit as both students have been rescued.
We specially appreciate the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Ogun Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun for their versatility and proactiveness.
We also express our gratitude to Joint Security and Intervention Squad for their hardwork.
