The present administration in Ogun State will continue to give necessary support to security agencies with a view to ensuring continued security of lives and property of its citizens.
The State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, gave this assurance in her office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta while playing host to Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State command, led by its newly deployed Commandant, Kolawole Taiwo.
The Deputy Governor said that NSCDC is an integral part of the security architecture in the State, expressing government’s gratitude for the selfless service the Command is rendering in securing government assets and people of the state as a whole.
While maintaining that men of the Command should continue to exhibit professionalism in the discharge of their duties, she recalled that at the inception of the present administration, Governor Dapo Abiodun revamped the Security Trust Fund towards providing the needed impetus for security agencies in the state to succeed.
On the provision of security in educational institutions, Engr Salako-Oyedele said “as we key into the safe school initiative across the country, we look forward to working with you to keep our children safe because our government is particularly concerned about the safety of our students in their learning environments”
In his remarks, the new NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Kolawole Taiwo, said the command is ever ready to give necessary security coverage to the citizens of the state as well as the assets of the nation, adding that the Command has keyed into the safe school initiative with a view to providing necessary security for students in various schools in the State, especially now that the country is experiencing security challenges such as kidnapping and banditry.
