Chairman of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Mr. Babatunde Osibodu has thumbs- up the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command for the role the latter played in the just concluded 2021 Local Government elections in the State.

Mr. Osibodu who led Management Team of the Commission to the NSCDC headquarters in Oke-ilewo, Abeokuta, on a thank “you visit”, further described men of the Corps as very professional in the discharge of their duties, before, during and after the elections.

According to him, “we are here to say thank you, not just for the roles played during the elections but also for the various trainings and in its interactions with us as a Commission”, adding that all through the exercise, no member of the Corps, including the plain clothes and uniformed officers were found wanting.

Responding, the Commandant of the Corps, Commander Kolawole Taiwo, appreciated the OGSIEC Team for recognizing the efforts of the officers of the Command, disclosing that they were delighted to perform their Civic responsibility by defending the defenseless.

He revealed that the Command will not relent in the discharge of its core mandate of securing National Assets of the country, Disaster Management, exposing citizens to security tips, adding that the Corp was Civil in operation, which underscores why it always appeal to citizens.

He pledged the continued synergy, support and cooperation of the Corps to the Commission, promising to always be partners in the progress and development of the State.

While giving the vote of thanks, the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Ogbonnaya Dyke, appreciated OGSIEC for maintaining cordial relationship with the Corps, promising the Command’s support when the need arises.
